We've been in business for over 20 years!
Getting to know me isn’t hard! I’m a Nebraska Home Girl and Sports Spectator!
I grew up in Nebraska (mostly) and I’m a Nebraska sports fan (all types). I enjoy both collegiate and professional sports. It’s fun to watch people compete and raise their own bar to meet a challenge. After all, on any given day, you never know what the outcome might be!
I enjoy all 4 seasons but wish the additional “Windy” season and humid weather here would go away! I enjoy garage sales, thrift shops and negotiating great bargains!
Education and Training
My education and training background is interesting. I have an Equine Science BS (CSU) and my first job in Colorado after graduation was a marketing one offering insurance products to the horse industry. So now you know how I “fell” into the insurance industry. My son and family were the reason I made a move back to Nebraska. Zachary was 2 years old at the time and family really wanted us home!
I gained a Master’s in Management from Bellevue University and have worked in the financial services sector, the mortgage broker business and sold life and health insurance. My journey as a traditional property casualty professional includes positions as a CSR, captive agency owner, producer in an independent agency and a CE provider now for almost 20 years. I have an ecommerce business and create one-of-a-kind artisan crafted home décor as well.
Privacy and Security
How did I end up talking about privacy and security of information?
Originally, I met someone at a networking event and learned about an identity theft monitoring product on the market. That curiosity grew me into the CE provider I am today talking about all the vulnerabilities we face due to the technology advancements. I am mostly self-taught on the privacy and security trends I share. I enjoy the research, writing and putting a great presentation together. I’ve always had a concern about the ability to keep information private after the explosion of the internet and software development trends. My outlook is not positive for the information age. I think long-term it will cause more harm than benefit to everyone if we don’t rein it in now.
Dog and Animal Enthusiast
I’m a dog enthusiast and own 2. One is a Beagle/Basset named Duke and one is a Beagle hound mix named Lola! We support the Basset Beagle Rescue of the Heartland and are in awe at the volunteer effort to save this breed and the compassion this group has for animals. I occasionally foster and can connect you with the group anytime! I still am looking for my time to own horses and embrace that lifestyle.
